About this house sitting position in West End
Hi there,
I’m Rayshell and my partner is Conal. We are looking for a home sitter/ fur baby sitter for our precious little angel Ochre. She is a 5 year old long haired miniature dachshund.
We are traveling overseas between Feb 21st and March 15th approx and need a reliable, dog lover to take care of our precious pooch. We are looking for a dog person who isn’t out of the apartment for extended periods of time (6 hours or more) and who is willing to smother our baby with love.
We treat our sausage like a true child. She sleeps with us and is very spoilt! She sadly lost her vision about 6 months ago to a life-limiting autoimmune disease called SARDS (sudden acquired retinal degeneration syndrome). With this comes increased thirst and hunger, this also makes her go to the toilet more frequently but she can find her own way outside to the toilet if the door is left open for her. We also leave the aircon on for her on hot days.
She also has a little bit of trouble getting out to the toilet at night (if she is sleeping in the bed with us) because she can no longer use her ramp to get down. I’m hoping to teach her to sleep in a dog bed but she is very needy. When walking her she is slow and lacks confidence so doesn’t like to go too far. She needs coaching to find gutters and navigate hazards. She pretty much just loves a short walk, treats and lots of cuddles.
We live in West End, a suburb just outside the CBD of Brisbane. It’s a 5-10 min drive or bus and a 20-30 min walk. Good food and culture in west end. We have a 2 bedroom modern apartment with all the essentials. We also have speedy wifi. The apartment is in a safe and friendly complex with a pool also.
Ochre has some dog friends who live in the surrounding blocks who would gladly take her for a night or two if you ever needed a break :)
