About this house sitting position in Whyalla
Hi,
Whyalla is known for its warm days and cold nights in winter and should be lovely weather here during June/July. We are a family of 6 with 2 dogs (German Shepherd and Maltese), 1 turtle, 1 bird and some fish to be cared for while we're away. The lawn and gardens are on a watering system that will need to be checked and we would like the lawn mowed a couple of times. We have a nice home with outdoor bbq area, including a pizza oven, lawn, trampoline and playground in a large sandpit. We also have a 1 bedroom granny flat in the back yard, where you can choose to stay or you can move into the main home. Locally we have kayak/paddle board hire at the beach (or our own kayaks if you have means to get them to the beach), with dolphins swimming in the marina almost daily. Winter is also the season that cuttlefish congregate for breeding at nearby Point Lowly with dive tours run from Whyalla. We are around the corner from the local Foodland, Indian takeaway, Chinese takeaway, chemist, butcher and cafe. The next main road over has doctors, dentists and 2 bakeries as well as fuel stations and 1 of the pubs, all within easy walking. We do have a shopping centre with your normal Woolies, Coles, Target, clothes, and cheap shops, etc. about a 7 minute drive and a shopping precinct about a 3 minute drive or 20 minute walk, as is the foreshore area and gardens.
From our place you could explore the base of the Flinders Rangers (Quorn with steam railway), Port Augusta (Arid Botanical Gardens with cafe and nature play area) Wilmington (&Alligator Gorge) and Melrose (mountain biking, including hire) or down the coast (Cowell/Tumby Bay/Port Lincoln) - all easy day trips. We are happy if you would like to do some overnight trips to explore, if you work in with our friends, they're happy to feed the pets for a night while you're out exploring the region.
Would love to hear back from you, Thanks, Helen & Marcos Read more...
