About this house sitting position in Yass

I have to go to Sydney for a bone marrow transplant which is why this ad is being done. We do not have definite dates yet and it will be for at least 3 months. Dates are approximate only as I may go up later and therefore be up there later.

We are after a house sitter for our 2 dogs, 3 horses, 2 pet sheep and 2 birds. Alternate accommodation can be found for the birds if you don't like them.

We are fussy with who we get as our dogs are our babies and need love and attention. Our husky x (Leia) has had both cruciate ligaments done, gets monthly synovan injections (will be prepaid at the vet) and is afraid of storms. Our other dog frets when Leia goes away and will generally dob her in if she's doing something wrong. We need someone who is prepared to let the dogs be inside with them when they're home and they're awake. We need a person with patience as Leia likes to wake up my husband at 4.30am. They are kept inside at night as it is a rural area, and should they get out, they might get shot. They are happy to go in their dog run, with a doggie treat as a reward of course when you need to go out. A timetable etc will be provided (yes, they are that spoiled). The other dog is not kid friendly, so no sitters with children please. We don't want your child bitten.

A couple of the horses can be a handful for the farrier, so horse experience is ideal. No riding required but you can groom them and cuddle them.

Only house / maintenance duties expect include mowing the grass around the house. This is not likely to be needed since it's winter. House sitter/s needed with no pets of their own (sorry, dogs are not social but one of them adores people, everyone that comes over is to visit her) although another horse, bird or sheep will be considered. No dog walking as the dogs self exercise.

What you get is a house located just outside of Yass. Close proximity to Canberra (about 45 mins) and the wineries. It's on 5 acres with town water (suggest buying it for drinking water, okay boiled) and town garbage collection. It is a good spot to explore the Yass/Murrumbateman/Canberra area.
