About this house sitting position in Mount Morgan

My partner Paul and I are looking for a self-contained couple with large dog experience. We live between a bus and a shed while we build our house so we are looking for a couple with their own self-contained rig that can park up on the property.

We live on a 1.5 acre fledgling Permaculture food forest with our two dogs, Boris and Julie, two cats, Bonnie and Clyde, some chooks and some bees.

Boris is a 10yo Black Russian Terrier who is a a strong one-person dog. He became strongly bonded with Paul after his female owner was unable to care for him due to illness. He has a very strong personality and suffers severe anxiety when Paul is not present. He weighs over 50kgs.

Julie is an Australian Staghound who loves affection 25 hours a day. She is an 8yo rescue dog. Both dogs sleep with us in the bus (on the floor).

We are asking for someone to arrive a week earlier so you can get to know Boris while we are still here. His welfare is a big priority. He needs someone strong with extreme kindness. Experience with large rescue dogs is important.

We will be away for two weeks so the sit is a total of three weeks.

Duties here will include watering, maybe a little mowing and caring for the animals. We are on tank water only so understanding that water is a precious resource for us is important. We may even require a tanker of water to be delivered depending on how the season pans out with rainfall.

Our property already produces quite a bit of food including pumpkins, sweet potato, mangoes, bananas, papayas and a number of different fruit trees may randomly provide a feed. Most trees are less than two years old.

If you are interested in Permaculture, this property has been designed from the start using Permaculture principles and we use biodynamic preparations to build soil fertility and use no chemicals. Already it has been described as an oasis. Paul is happy to talk Permaculture all day.

We strictly will not accept any pets so if you are travelling with your fur babies, sorry, this is not the sit for you.
