About this house sitting position in West Rockhampton

We own a spacious 2 storey home on a large residential block in town. Please note: there are internal & external stairs so please only consider our home if you are somewhat physically fit & able to navigate stairs. Upstairs is 3 bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, TV & open lounge space, downstairs is the media room, office (being renovated) & another bedroom. In-between the two levels is a laundry & toilet (which is only a few steps down).

We have a small 7year old male Bichon Frise dog named Muffy to care for, he likes a walk a couple of times a week. He is microchiped, registered, desexed, wormed & flea treated monthly & we will leave our vet details should you need this. If you are inclined he loves an occasional beach trip but there is no expectation to take him. He alternates between indoors/outdoors depending on the weather & people being home so there is no expectation either way. He has a set up both inside & outside in his cubby house. We politely ask that he does not sleep on our beds including the guest bed!

There are gardens to water & at times we grow vegetables according to the season in the raised garden beds. You are welcome to eat any of the vegetables growing at the time of your visit. Most of the trees in the back yard are natives to this region so don’t take a lot of care. The yard may need a mow once while we are away but in the cooler months it is slow growing.

There is a entertainment area outside with table & chairs & gas bbq, there is also a fire pit which we ask you use responsibly (no broken glass or bottle top lids, no burning plastic & please extinguish after use).

We also have one chook if she is still with us when you visit, she doesn’t take much care. Just ensuring her food feeder is topped up & she has clean water in her auto drip trough.

We have plenty of walking tracks in Rockhampton & the surrounds, parklands & bbq’s which are free to use. The Botanical Gardens, zoo & playground is less than a 5 minute drive & this is where our local Parkrun takes place each Saturday morning which attracts an average of 300 people each week.
The beach (Yeppoon) is only a 35 minute drive & includes many scenic walks, beautiful restaurants & cafes, as well as a man-made Lagoon Pool which is a great attraction for families & is free entry.
The Fitzroy & surrounds have a lot to offer & we are certain you will find plenty to do in this town. If you like scenic walks, beach, bush, art galleries, quaint cafes, theatre, socials ect then Rockhampton & its neighbour Yeppoon won’t disappoint!

The guest room where you would sleep is currently receiving a fresh coat of paint in (March 2024) & has a comfortable queen sized bed with fresh linin, built in wardrobe, desk & chair & bedside tables. There is a cot, change-table & baby gates available upon request for those visiting with a little one.
Unfortunately we are unable to host larger families as this would impact on the privacy of our own rooms.

We will be leaving our cars behind as we are travelling overseas. Therefore, we will consider allowing the use of the vehicles upon prior arrangement & would add you to our insurance. Both vehicles are comprehensively insured & we would need a copy of your current traffic report for those using our cars.
