I will be in Melbourne from 5 February and until medio April. I am looking for cat or calm dog sits. My name is Pernille, I am a 63-year-old woman from Denmark, and I spend around three months in Melbourne each year visiting my daughter, who lives there permanently.

Cats have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I have had cats my entire life, and in recent years I opened my home to former breeding cats, giving them a calm, loving retirement once they were too old to continue breeding. Creating a safe, gentle, and predictable environment for cats is something very close to my heart.

I lost my last cat in July, and I deeply miss the quiet companionship, routines, and small moments that come with living with a cat. Caring for someone else’s cat now feels both natural and meaningful to me.

For the past four years, I have been house- and cat-sitting in Melbourne and have excellent references from previous sits. Many homeowners have trusted me repeatedly, and several have become friends over time. I am known for being stable, responsible, clean, and very reliable. I treat every home and every animal with the same care and respect as if they were my own.

I understand cats well — their need for routine, patience, gentle presence, and respect for their individual personalities. Whether your cat is social, shy, elderly, playful, or simply enjoys quiet company, I adapt to what makes them feel safe and comfortable.

I live in an old house from 1890 with a garden, where I am used to caring for animals and observing wildlife with patience and respect. During my stays in Melbourne, I live a calm and low-key life. After a stress-related collapse, I value quiet days, simple routines, and being present at home. This means your cat will have company, consistency, and attentive care throughout the day — not just quick visits.
