Hi! We’re Anaïs and Florian 👋

We’re a French couple, 31 and 35 years old, and we’ve been travelling around Australia for almost a year on our Working Holiday Visas.

We met in New Zealand a few years ago, while doing a Woofing experience at an animal rescue. We helped with the day-to-day life of the rescue and looked after lots of different animals: chickens, ducks, turkeys, a pony, a deer 🦌, as well as many birds and turtles. We really enjoyed the experience and loved having the chance to share our everyday life with so many different animals.

A real love for animals 🐴🐱

Anaïs grew up in a horse riding centre in the south of France. Animals have therefore always been a big part of her life, especially horses, but also sheep. Her aunt also had a dog breeding business, so being around animals has always felt very natural to her.

When she was a teenager, Anaïs regularly helped her parents at the riding centre, including helping with and leading pony rides. She learned from a young age how to be responsible around animals and how important their safety and wellbeing are.

Three years ago, she also had several Woofing experiences in New Zealand, where she looked after animals, did babysitting, helped with housework and gardening. She is therefore very used to staying in other people’s homes, respecting their routines and house rules, and taking care of their home as if it were her own.

Anaïs also completed her BAFA (a French qualification for working with children) as a teenager, which allowed her to take on different childcare jobs. She has had several babysitting experiences over the years.

We also both have pets back in France. Florian has a cat who is currently being looked after by his dad while we are travelling, and Anaïs has two cats who are staying with her parents. Animals are naturally a big part of our lives, so we understand how important it is to be able to leave your pets knowing they are safe, happy and well looked after.

Our lifestyle 🌿

We’re calm, responsible, clean and respectful people. We’re both non-smokers and neither of us drinks alcohol. We enjoy a quiet lifestyle and are always mindful of the people and environment around us.

Florian is vegetarian, and we both enjoy cooking simple meals and keeping our living space clean and tidy.

We also have our own vehicle, a Ford Ranger 4WD set up with a rooftop tent, so we are completely independent when it comes to getting around.

Our experience in Adelaide 🏡

We already lived in Adelaide for several months last year in a share house, and we had a really great experience. We actually became responsible for looking after the house, including keeping it clean and tidy and letting the owner know if there were any issues or anything that needed attention.

So we’re very comfortable sharing a home, respecting common spaces and taking good care of a property that isn’t ours.

Why we’re on Mind the Home 🏡

After almost a year of travelling around Australia, we’re now coming back to Adelaide, a city we really enjoyed during our first stay and where we would now love to settle for a few months.

We’re looking for somewhere to stay for a few days when we first arrive back in Adelaide. This would give us a little time to find our own place, look for work and settle back into the city.

For us, Mind the Home feels like a lovely opportunity for a genuine exchange: you can go away knowing that your home and pets are in safe and caring hands, while it gives us the chance to get settled back into Adelaide in a relaxed way.

We’d be really happy to help someone who is looking for trustworthy people to look after their home and/or pets while they’re away. We know how reassuring it is to know that your home is being looked after and that your pets are getting plenty of care and attention while you’re away.

We’re independent, easy-going and used to adapting to new environments. We’d love to meet you, learn about your routines and expectations, and give you peace of mind while you’re away. 😊
