I am an experienced dog sitter of about 15 years, and have made it a big part of my life in the last 5 years. My story: I moved to Australia way back in 1984 from the US having fallen in love with an Aussie boy from WA. Thirty years later I found myself moving to NSW where I have lived for many years. Now retired, and footloose and free to travel, I go back and forth between the US where my family is, and Australia where my friends are.

I love dogs, and with my lifestyle I can’t exactly own one, so I love looking after others’ dogs in different communities. I am a flexible and adaptable individual, very fit and active, loving the outdoors for walking (especially with dogs) and cycling, and of course when in Australia, swimming.

I have owned my own houses in Fremantle WA and on the Midnorth Coast in NSW. I care for all property as if it were my own and am clean and tidy and responsible. Definitely no partying (who can be bothered especially when I am usually asleep by 9pm!) and an early riser which is the best time of day in Australia - cool enough to get a dog’s first walk in! I spend most days at home, being retired, and am table to provide great company and care for animals, not leaving them alone for long stretches of time.

I am a great problem solver, having worked in project management in the WA State government for many years, and work well with people in different situations.

If there was one thing that might set me apart from others looking for the same position, I would look to my experience and my past sits where both the dogs and their people have become friends with whom I keep in touch and sit for when I can.
