Hi, we’re Carol and Wayne.

We previously lived in Artarmon, Sydney, before retiring to Brisbane nine years ago. Retirement has kept us busy with renovations, landscaping and setting up an Airbnb. We recently sold our home and downsized, and did a couple of house sits while waiting to move into our new home — which reminded us just how much we enjoy house sitting.

We’re available from 26 December ( when we finish another house-sitting assignment), until around 10 January, although we’re flexible with the end date. We’d particularly love the opportunity to house sit in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs or North Shore.

We’ve house sat over the years for all sorts of reasons — between moves, for friends, through word of mouth and repeat requests. We genuinely enjoy looking after other people’s homes and are respectful of the fact that we’re being entrusted with someone’s home and, most importantly, their much-loved pets.

Animals are a big part of why we enjoy it. I grew up with dogs and cats, and our children had a bit of a menagerie of pets growing up. We love getting to know their individual personalities and routines — and we’re admittedly rather tragic YouTube cat-video watchers!

We’re reliable, tidy and considerate, and will treat your home as we would our own. We’re happy to keep things simple and follow your usual routines for your pets and home, and we’ll keep you updated while you’re away so you can relax knowing everything is going well.

For us, house and pet sitting is also a lovely way to experience different places and enjoy a home away from home. We’re quiet, non-smokers and very occasionally enjoy a glass of wine.
