More information about this house sitter
I’ve been surrounded by animals my entire life — dogs, cats, birds, ducks, bunnies, and even chickens, often all at once. I grew up with both large and small dogs and was raised in a family that believed pets weren’t just animals — they were family.
In my early twenties, I took in a troubled rescue dog, and together we completed obedience training when he was ready. The bond we built based on patience, trust, and love — was life-changing and shaped how I connect with every animal since.
When I married in 2009, my husband’s pug of four years quickly chose me as his new favourite human — much to his dismay! Children and animals have always gravitated towards me; they seem to sense calm and safety in my presence.
Since my divorce in 2016, I’ve lived in rentals that don’t allow pets. Still, I’ve found joy through local wildlife — earning the trust of magpies, possums, and even the neighbours’ cats who regularly stop by for a cuddle. I’ve also housesat and cared for friends’ pets, forming instant bonds with almost every animal I meet.
In February 2023, I was unexpectedly admitted to hospital with a benign brain tumour, requiring two surgeries. While I’m still recovering and not yet back at work, every interaction with a pet has brought me comfort, happiness, and healing.
I’m an ex-Victorian Police Officer of eight years, and now work as a financial and tax professional — so I'm responsible, trustworthy, and dependable. I pride myself on being calm, caring, and impeccably clean. My Airbnb account has a 5 star rating, with all hosts stating "I'm very friendly and extremely clean". Your pets and home will always be in safe, loving hands.
Joining MindaHome feels like the perfect way to combine my love of animals with my gentle recovery — to enjoy natural surroundings, walk your dogs, or snuggle with your loved ones. I’d be truly honoured to care for your pets and your home as if they were my own. xx
Ps. My decision to become a house/pet sitter was a spontaneous one. I'm still in the process of looking through my old phone/USB for pics and organising references. Read more...
