We are a responsible and respectful family with a genuine interest in rural living, farming and caring for animals.

We have previously stayed on farms and have hands-on experience helping with day-to-day farm work, including animal care and general property tasks. More recently, we also spent time at a permaculture farm in Northern Rivers NSW, where we participated in practical farm activities and gained further experience with rural living.

Our children are homeschooled, which gives our family a lot of flexibility and means we are able to spend extended periods in rural locations without being tied to a school schedule. I also work from home most of the week and currently only need to attend the office in Sydney once or twice a week. This means someone is usually around the property during the day, which can be particularly useful when caring for animals or keeping an eye on a rural property.

We are looking for opportunities where we can genuinely experience day-to-day rural living as a family, particularly on properties with animals, gardens, orchards or other general farm responsibilities. We are comfortable following established routines, feeding and checking animals, looking after gardens, keeping a property clean and secure, and carrying out reasonable day-to-day tasks.

We are reliable, organised and respectful of other people's homes and animals. We understand that house and farm sitting is a responsibility, not just accommodation, and we would always take the time to understand the owner's expectations and the needs of the property before committing to a sit.

We are particularly interested in longer rural stays where we can become familiar with the property's routine and provide consistent, dependable care while the owners are away. Read more...
