More information about this house sitter

We are an animal loving, professional couple who immigrated from England in April 2025. We are both non-smokers and would describe ourselves as respectful, tidy, easy-going, trustworthy, communicative, and of course, animal loving. Chrissie (30F) is a Kiwi and Kris (27M) is on a five year working visa and we are intending to be in Australia long term. We have a history of loving family and personal pets, alongside various sitting experiences. The most difficult part of our move was leaving our two perfectly adorable cats (San and Serenity) behind. Luckily they have remained in the family, however, we are sorely missing their company so would love to share our affections with your pets!

Our cats were adopted strays and unfortunately were quite unwell when we bought them home. Therefore, we have experience administering eye drops and oral medication (both liquid and tablets), plus figuring out various ways to persuade a pet to take medication.

As we have recently immigrated, we'd like to try out different areas of Melbourne, with the bonus of taking care of some lovely pets. We initially sublet in Richmond, and have a handful of sits organised for the coming months. We are available to sit for the odd period here and there, ten primarily from November onward - so do get in touch if you are looking for a sitter and think we might be a good fit. As there are two of us, we can be flexible with dates and split up for a few days if needed should there be any overlap.

Hi, Chrissie here :) I grew up across the UK and New Zealand, with multiple cats and a loving black lab called Tui. I am a vegetarian and have always loved animals, nature and in general being outdoors as much as possible. As such I have pet sit for multiple family members and friends over the years, and was dog fosterer for a period whilst attending university online in my late twenties. I enjoy meeting new animals and love learning about their distinct personalities and needs. I understand that all animals have different boundaries, so am happy to provide as much or as little affection as suits them.

I am a paralegal and have recently started a role with the Department of Health. I work full time, however, this is hybrid and I work from home 2/3 days per week. As part of the on-boarding process, I have organised international police certificates and would be happy to share copies of these.

Hi, I’m Kris – and animals have been a huge part of my life since I was a child. My earliest memory is doing a school project on my first cat, Lily. Over the years, our home has always been a hub for rescue and rehomed animals – from adopting cats that needed urgent care, like Bruno and Dillian, to taking in strays like Snuffles, who we later reunited with her owner after months of care. More recently, my partner and I adopted two barn kittens, San and Serenity, who were really on their last legs when we got them – they’ve been inseparable (and extremely cuddly) ever since.

I’ve supported my mum’s pet sitting over the years, and my sister also runs a dog-sitting business that we often pitch in on. During university, I helped launch a partnership with Borrow My Doggy to connect students and isolated elderly residents after lockdown. I also spent four years helping run a farm, caring for a plethora of animals from horses and rabbits, to reptiles and mice.

Outside of animal care, Chrissie and I are very community-minded – it's how we met! I’ve volunteered since I was 16, and most of my work has been in public service, including roles in the NHS, local council, DoH, schools, and the police. After supporting my mum through a difficult period over the last two years, Chrissie and I have moved to Australia to begin our next chapter – and I’m excited to bring our lifelong care for animals with us.

We appreciate the anxiety of leaving your home and beloved pets behind when travelling, and so will do everything we can to help alleviate this anxiety as much as possible. We are happy to provide references from previous pet sits and please don’t hesitate to message us should you have any queries or would like any further information.
