More information about this house sitter
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile!
I’m a Kiwi who immigrated from England in April 2025 and am now based in Melbourne. The hardest part of moving to Australia was leaving my two very adorable cats, San and Serenity, behind. They’ve remained with family and are very well looked after, but I miss their company enormously and would love the opportunity to share that affection with your pets while you’re away.
I’m a non-smoker and would describe myself as respectful, tidy, easy-going, trustworthy, communicative, and of course a genuine animal lover.
I have a long history of caring for both family and personal pets, alongside a variety of pet-sitting experiences. My cats were adopted strays and were unfortunately quite unwell when I first brought them home, so I’m comfortable administering eye drops and oral medications (both liquid and tablets). I’ve also cared for both cats and dogs with medical needs, including pets with pica, and understand the patience and attentiveness that caring for animals with special requirements can involve.
Having lived with cats for many years, I’m very comfortable with everything from playful, social cats to the more independent types who prefer their space. I really enjoy getting to know animals and their individual personalities, and I’m always mindful that every pet has different needs and boundaries. I’m very happy to provide as much or as little affection as suits them.
I grew up between the UK and New Zealand with multiple cats and a much-loved black lab called Tui. I’m vegetarian and have always loved animals, nature, and spending time outdoors. Over the years I’ve pet sat for many friends and family members, and I was also a dog fosterer for a period while completing university online in my late twenties.
As I’m relatively new to Australia, I’ve enjoyed exploring different areas of Melbourne while caring for some lovely pets along the way. I initially sublet in Richmond and have been fortunate to complete several sits across Melbourne over the past eight months.
I work full-time as a paralegal at the Department of Health within the public law team. My role is hybrid and I work from home three days per week, meaning I’m able to spend plenty of time at home keeping pets company during the week.
As part of my onboarding process I obtained international police certificates, and I’m very happy to provide copies if required. I’m also very respectful of people’s homes and always aim to leave everything clean, tidy, and well looked after.
I completely understand the anxiety that can come with leaving your home and beloved pets while travelling, so I will always do my best to ensure both are well cared for and that you feel reassured while you’re away. I’m very happy to provide references from previous sits, and please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions or would like further information.
I look forward to meeting you and your pets!
(Please note that some of my previous reviews refer to sitting with my former partner, Kris. I now complete house and pet sits independently.) Read more...
