We are active retirees who used Mindahome for our Greyhound housesits successfully until we lost our last older greyhound after 10 years recently. We understand having respectful and caring people caring for much loved pets in your home is essential for a relaxed break away. We prefer looking after dogs, Greyhounds a bonus ( a quirky breed) and we would walk dogs carefully and look after them as if they were our family too. We would consider short breaks in Tasmania and longer breaks interstate. Costs of flying out of Hobart to interstate locations would have to be a consideration in us considering housesits. Short interstate sits may be cost prohibitive for us in terms of our outlay.
As we have a lovely well equipped home, we would prefer the same and importantly a comfortable bed but not shared with pets. We would undertake feeding and exercising dogs as instructed and leave your home as clean as we found it. It would be preferable for us to arrive a day or so before your trip to have a good handover and meet your pet family. Depending on timing for our return we may also require an overnight stay when you return. We are non smokers and keep a clean hom. If interstate, we would have no transport so would need to be close to public transport or use of a car during our stay. Read more...
