Hi, we are Doug and Malini, both aged 62 and retired. Doug worked as an IT consultant and Project Manager and Malini was a corporate lawyer. We have three adult kids.

We own our home in Wahroonga (Sydney's North Shore), but 3 years ago we rented it out and went overseas to fulfil our retirement dream. We bought a sailing boat in Croatia, and have spent the last three seasons living aboard and cruising through the Mediterranean.

During the northern winter we leave our boat and come back to Australia to spend time with friends and family. Last year (24-25), with our house tenanted, we tried house-sitting for the first time, and loved it. We completed about a dozen sits, all with dogs (up to three) and some with cats, chickens, ducks and geese. Half of those were through Mindahome (the rest through another site) and you can see our references.

This year we are returning from (approximately) 15 November to mid January and we are looking for house-sits in the Sydney area and possibly the Melbourne area.

We are clean and tidy, quiet, and non-smokers. We have no commitments to go to work or to travel, so we give your home and pet(s) all the attention they need.
We have a great sense of responsibility, as is required to navigate and maintain a sailing yacht.

We both love dogs. Doug grew up with a cocker spaniel, a German shepherd and a labrador-something dog found abandoned. Malini also grew up with dogs, and raised a loving family pet, a black labrador, until he sadly died aged 13 a few years ago. We also love cats - Doug has previously had 2, including a rescue, and one with 3 legs.

Doug is a keen gardener and would happily maintain your backyard in immaculate condition. Read more...
