My name’s Euan and I’m a native Australian currently residing abroad in South East Asia, helping international students from all areas of the globe to improve their English communication.

I’m 57 and grew up in Melbourne but retired from my career in 2015 and took up teaching English in order to explore the world. For as long as I can remember, pets were always a part of my life. I always kept close company with my affectionate 4-legged canine and feline siblings and often preferred their company to the common ‘2-legged competition’. I currently share my apartment with my 2 best feline friends, Sophie (4), Binxy (8months) and have only just adopted Niles – a formerly homeless soul with a heart of pure gold.

I’m professional, courteous, patient and super affectionate with pets. I’m a non-smoker, non-drinker with a quiet personality who prefers time on my own to frequent socialising. I’m a remote/online worker who’s pro-active when I need to be but love opportunities to enjoy quiet environments to read books or practice music, as this was my former career.

My goal was to travel the world working as an English teacher to support my new lifestyle but the pandemic changed everything. Rather than returning home to Melbourne in 2020 when everything occurred, I decided to sit tight and ‘wait for the dust to settle’ rather than continue travelling; not that it was an option at the time! As a result, I’ve returned to familiar habits and really enjoy the more relaxed, easy going lifestyle in this ‘developing country’. But I’ve been procrastinating major medical treatment for persistent sinus issues that continue to bog me down so I’ve decided to return to Australia for several months until I can get some relief via our beloved Aussie medical professionals. As a result, I’ve registered here at ‘Aussie House Sitters’ in the hope that I can be of service to some ‘kindred (animal loving) spirits’ and facilitate my medical needs at the same time.

My ‘furry family’ can’t accompany me on my trip back to Australia however, so I’m a ‘solo’ traveller on this journey. They will be well cared for by my landlord, who is always bribing them with treats to visit their apartment downstairs from mine.

I’d be honoured to be entrusted with the care of your loved ones and am happy to fulfil all requirements regarding maintaining your home while you are away.
I'm new to house sitting but am looking forward to experiencing different environments and different 'personalities' (... of the furry kind) while I maintain my quiet, peaceful lifestyle making new friends at the same time. Read more...
