Hi, I’m Aïko.

I grew up in France but have spent the past decade travelling, studying, and living mostly through house/pet/farm sitting. I lived in Australia for several years during my PhD, and I’m back for a few months to present some of my work and visit friends and places that feel like home.

I genuinely love taking care of things — animals, plants, homes, landscapes — and I would be very happy to take care of yours.

I travel with Gumbi, a young dog I rescued during recent fieldwork (who is looking for a new home). He is very quiet, gentle, and social with other dogs. He used to live in a pack of nine, and I’m confident managing multi-dog dynamics and all sorts of relationships with other animals. Gumbi is good with chickens and small animals, and though he’s still in training, he is already incredibly calm and well-mannered at home.

I also have extensive experience with horses (all care and training) and good experience with cows, goats, and sheep.
My partner Gautier loves chickens and is always happy to care for them.

I’ve spent my whole life working with and taking care of animals. Plants came into my life more recently, and I enjoy tending to them just as much. Since I’m currently writing a book and applying for research positions, I will often be home — ideal for pets needing presence.

Gautier works in ecological construction (stone, raw earth, straw, wood, etc.), and together we are quiet, respectful, and reliable people. If you happen to need a small dry-stone wall somewhere, he would be delighted to help!

We’ll be in Tasmania in December–early January, then in Victoria and NSW from February to early March.
