Since May 2024, we've been travelling north along the east coast of Qld Australia. We finished a 9-week house-sit in Seaforth in Aug and completed a 10-week house-sit in Bowen in Nov 24. Just before Christmas 24, we did a 5-wk house-sit in Samford Valley Qld with 2 Great Danes. Then in Pimpama for 2-wks, and later, on Tamborine Mtn for a 3-wk sit during March 25 (cyclone Alfred). During April 25 we cared for a property in Wights Mtn with a 4yo Ridgeback and a cat. And in May 25, a 4-week sit in Gumdale (Bris) on a 5-acre property with 2 dogs.

From June to 5 Nov 25, we're travelling Outback to Darwin, Alice, Uluru, returning via Nth Qld. Now we have returned to SEQ and are house/pet-sitting from around 5 Nov on the Gold Coast until around 7 Jan 26. We have a 3-wk HS 23 Mar-16 Apr 26 in Beaudesert Q. We enjoy travelling in our new 18' caravan and house-sitting, caring for homes, gardens and fur-baby families along the way. We will need a 8m x 2.5m with 3m height clearance to park our caravan on your property and hook up to power to maintain battery charge. We are a mature, quiet couple, we don’t have pets and non-smokers. We work our online business whilst on the road. We are becoming very popular amongst house-owners, often booked-out months ahead.

Shakti (66 yrs) was born in NZ and became an Australian citizen in 1998, and Ramiah (69 yrs – and a Qld JP) was born in central west NSW. We have been married since 1996. We are fit and healthy, not on any medication, don't smoke and love to give lots of cuddles and walk your fur-babies.

When you make contact and we know you are considering us, we are open to have a phone or video chat so you can ask questions. Once we commit to a house-sit – we always follow through, starting with sharing of all contact details with each other, often communicating via WhatsApp.

Our profile provides our photos and experience, along with honest references from Trusted House Sitters and Aussie House Sitters. We provide all our own food, drinks, toiletries, and internet (if needed) and will leave your home in as-good-as, or better condition than when we arrived. We prefer to stay inside your home.

For example, as a couple, we felt blessed to have once cared for a couple’s home, fruit trees, orchid house and vegie garden in Far North Qld for 9-weeks whilst they travelled outback. We had good communication weekly (including photos) and they provided their neighbours’ details if we needed support. They gave us access to fruit and vegies grown on their property, along with full use of their 4-bedroom home. In exchange, we provided security by being present 95% of the time and caring for their home and 6-acre property, including mowing with their Zero-Turn ride-on mower. We drove their small car to the post office each week to keep the battery charged. This time we provided our own internet.

"Ramiah and Shakti house-sat for us for 10 weeks (Sep – Nov 24) whilst we were travelling overseas. We left our 2 dogs, cat and fish for Shakti and Ramiah to take care of and they did a fantastic job, their updates with photos were greatly appreciated and made us feel more at ease.
Whilst we were away they had to purchase a couple of things like pegs and some light bulbs which they kept receipts for us to reimburse them.
Our home was in good condition when we got back, and they did well to keep our veggie patch alive!
And our animals were happy and healthy which was our only concern about going away.

We have previously owned and rented properties, both in city-hinterland and urban areas. We have good understanding of tank-water systems, septic and sullage, generators and ride-on mowers.

We have cared for dogs, cats, fish, guinea pigs, chickens and horses. We are quick learners for any other animal-care you may need.

We keep in regular contact with home-owners, providing photos and video of their pet's progress. If any issues arise, we always contact the owners in the first instance, in case there is an easy remedy or they can organise someone to visit.

We focus on the relationship between us and the house-owner, we always focus on the best outcome for both parties. Read more...
