Hi Alison
My name is Simon I am a 59 year old single father of two boys. I work in sales and travel extensively for work December is my month off. During that time my two adult boys (aged 21 and 18) visit , they both live in the USA my eldest, Baxter, is in his final year at Berklee College of Music in Boston and my youngest, David is at University of Washington in his freshman year.
Baxter has a pet cat, Moxie and David’s dog, Captain sadly recently passed of age related disease. We all love and adore animals of all kinds - I have kept and tended chickens at different times in my life.
I have experience housesitting before in Sydney under the same circumstances in Newtown - it was a few years ago but I’m sure I could find the lady’s name whose home we cared for to provide us with a reference.
And My home is in Kuranda Far North Queensland and do not keep pets - only because my backyard has pademelons every morning and cassowaries wander through intermittently - and the usual variety of snakes, possums, insects etc . I will include photos as hopefully it is a testament to the way I love and care for my own home and surrounds. Watering, mowing and gardening are all fine with me . I have two acres of well kept garden and rainforest and a pool to clean too!
Every year at this time my boys and I meet it is precious time to us . Sometimes we travel - all over really - we have toured Europe, North America and Asia extensively . Sometimes I go to their family home in Seattle, USA (My ex lives in Seattle) and sometimes they come here to Australia. My musician son is particularly enamoured of Sydney and I’m trying to convince him to make the big move.
We would love to care for your home and animals and understand the importance of treating your home with the care with which we would treat our own home. This period for will be a homecoming and even when travelling we spend most time together at the home where we enjoy each others company . When in Australia The boys are fostering a love of cricket and we explore the beaches and go for walks . We often go out for lunch or dinner. I’m also including one of Baxter’s original songs - a Bossa Nova . I figure it says something about us too!
The most important thing I can reassure you about is the utmost care we will provide for both your pets and home . If there is anything I can provide or questions I could answer please let me know
