John & I are retired fitness professionals but still fit & active. We work out daily at the gym & if we have no access to a gym we train with our weights. This just means we’re physically active & capable of taking on roles that need people to be active.

We have been on the road for 6 years & in that time we’ve been working mainly in caravan parks to supplement our income. We have decided it’s time to do something different, specialising in properties & rural/regional stays.

Our most recent caravan park role has been as part-time care takers of a 21 acre park in the Northern Rivers of NSW. Half of the property is a caravan park. The other half is horse paddocks. And the park has just been sold.

So our first house-sitting job, after finishing this role, is to actually house-sit for the current owners, their horses & dogs while they sign the contract on another home in another state.

And then we’ll work our way down NSW, ACT, VIC & SA to house-sit their next house until they’re ready to move..

Our skill base:-

John can do lots of little bits of everything. Grounds using general garden equipment & ride on mowers. Can use a Husquavarna & Zero Turn. Can do general maintenance, chainsaw work & repairs.

We are on tank water so John has experience in using generators. We also have a pool which John (in collaboration with the local pool shop) has maintained a close to 100% perfect water quality rating.

John is very proactive so if something needs to be done he’ll figure out how to do it, get advice from You Tube or call in a professional.

Ash has reception / office skills and house-keeping. General grounds & garden maintenance, including mowing, whipper-snippering. Good with a little chainsaw. Great with animals & in our most recent role caring for three beautiful, elderly horses.

Ash has ‘refreshed’ the cabins in our most recent role, giving them a fresh contemporary look inside & out. And many of the garden beds.

Both of us are self-starters so we can think on our feet & solve problems & manage issues that may arise.

We are both honest & reliable. We respect people’s possessions & property.

We prefer to live on our own space but adaptable if pets need companionship.

Ashleigh loves all creatures. John likes all creatures. So a good balance! 😬

Both of us have been dog parents. Ashleigh grew up in a house with 10 (yes 10!) dogs, 1 cat, chickens, ducks & a goat.
