Hi everyone! My name is Emily, I'm 36 and a remote worker and former journalist currently house sitting in beautiful Rainbow Bay, looking after a sweet cat named Dora. While I’m new to Mind A Home, I’ve looked after pets and homes in London, Berlin, Sydney and Melbourne for friends, neighbours and families I nannied for over the years.

In December 2024, I looked after a spirited Jack Russell Terrier named Pippa for two weeks while she recovered from surgery. She needed medication twice a day and had to wear a cone to stop her from chewing her stitches. I managed her care with gentleness and consistency. I'm a light-touch when it comes to discipline... she ended up sleeping in my bed each night!

In 2022, I regularly cared for Georgie, a playful toy poodle who loved her daily park sessions. We’d go for long walks and spend at least an hour each day playing fetch - she had energy to burn!

I’ve also done informal sits for families I nannied for in London and Berlin, caring for their homes and pets while they were away. These included everything from feeding routines, changing kitty litter to basic grooming and keeping them company.

I work remotely in communications for a purpose-driven start-up, which means I’m independent, reliable and home during the day. That’s great news for your pets! Before this, I was a journalist reporting from all over Australia and overseas. These days, I’m embracing a more grounded lifestyle of pet sitting while I make the most of this remote job.

Your pets will be in loving hands with me. I’m just as happy heading out for beach walks with your dog as I am curling up with your cat and a coffee. If they like to keep me company while I work, I don’t mind a bit of help at the computer either. I’m health-conscious, go to bed early, and feel most at home when I’m pottering around the house, surfing or going for a run.
