Having joined the ranks of empty nesters, we are semi-retirees from Cairns, fortunate enough to be able to travel long term and experience our beautiful country. We thrive on and treasure time spent in the outdoors, and sharing time with pets and all creatures, great and small.

Glen is a member of the SES and Cairns Coastguard and we have both worked in many remote locations over the years. Linda also has experience as a wildlife carer/ snake handler. We are both fully vaxxed, non-smokers with no pets (lost our last little one, an 11yo rescue Staffy a few years ago now).

Although new to Mindahome, we’ve been house sitting for the last four years all over Australia, all with five-star reviews. We’ve had the privilege of looking after all manner of creatures great and small, from thoroughbred racehorses, ponies, mini-cows and farm animals to birds, reptiles, fish, cats and dogs. We used to have an Irish Wolfhound/Great Dane cross, and have also looked after a Bull Arab, Rhodesian Ridgeback and Neapolitan Mastiff. So we love being around large animals.

We’ve also caretaken at a number of farm/heritage/station locations (as listed below) These all involved varying degrees of livestock care, pool maintenance, general maintenance and repairs (fire pumps, solar arrays and inverters, fencing, grounds maintenance, water pumps), security checks etc. Glen has also used quad bikes, side-by-side vehicles, fire fighting and BA equipment.

We will be travelling around NW and NE of Tassie till early Feb 2026, before heading back to mainland to spend a few months in Victoria, then inland NSW. Back to Brisbane around middle of the year.
