While I'm new to formal house sitting platforms, my connection with animals and the responsibility of caring for them runs deep. I grew up on a horse stud in Northern NSW, surrounded by dogs, where looking after animals wasn't a hobby — it was simply part of daily life. That upbringing instilled in me a genuine understanding of animal care, routine, and the trust that comes with being responsible for creatures that depend on you completely.
That same ethic carries over to how I approach someone's home. Growing up in a working rural environment, you learn quickly that maintaining a property — keeping things in order, being observant, and taking pride in your surroundings — matters. I bring that same quiet diligence to every space I'm trusted with.
I also know what it feels like to be on the other side. I own my own property and have entrusted it to others, so I understand firsthand the leap of faith that takes — and the standard of care and respect that owners rightfully expect in return. That perspective makes me a more thoughtful and considerate sitter.
I genuinely enjoy keeping outdoor spaces looking their best — there's something satisfying about jumping on a mower and leaving a garden neat and cared for. That said, I'm not a maintenance person, so anything requiring trade skills or repairs is best left to the professionals!
