More information about this house sitter
Please note, we have a number of reviews on other housesitting platforms which we can share with you. We are highly experienced so please don’t pass us up on MindAHome due to not having reviews posted here.
Hi there, Beth and Chris here!
Our experience:
Since October, we have completed six housesits and are ‘sitting’ our seventh now. We already have our eighth confirmed too. We have already been asked to sit again for a number of our sits, so I hope that proves what a good job we do. We truly care about your pets and home as if they were our own.
Our personal pets throughout life have included dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters and fish. We’ve cared for other species too, with Beth’s uncle and aunt as farmers, meaning Beth has been around all kinds of animals on a caring basis.
Since being in Perth, we have cared for dogs, cats, guinea pigs, stick insects (!), birds, fish, -
yabbies, and snakes too. We will also be adding donkeys and chickens to our list at the next sit. As you can see from this and our photos, we're up for anything - we love all animals.
In addition, we have enjoyed looking after and maintaining our housesits plants and gardens, as well as swimming pools (and ponds) too! We’ve been lucky to have a variety.
Whilst our calendars are relatively full across the coming months, we are especially keen for longer term sits in the latter end of 2026 and into 2027. We will, however, consider anything so please do reach out (as will we).
We have reviews/references on other house/petsitting platforms (which I am not allowed to name here), so please reach out for those links and I can forward anything. We also have police checks (Beth) and DBS/WWCC/WWVP checks (Chris) completed for work purposes, which we would be happy to share as consider these give additional peace of mind to you too.
Why we want to housesit:
House sitting is the perfect way for us to begin our new life here in Perth. As we have relocated from overseas, sitting offers a meaningful and practical way to mix with the community, explore different areas, and settle into Aussie life whilst doing something we truly love - being in the company of animals. We take comfort in knowing we can provide pet owners peace of mind, and in return, we get the joy of companionship and the opportunity to live like locals.
Having both grown up around pets, and having a lifelong love for animals, we value the trust placed in us to look after yours as if they were our own. We are happy to contact you, or be contacted, as much as you need whilst we sit for you so you can see your loved ones and your home being cared for.
A bit of background on us:
Beth has a background in ecological and environmental science, and has worked on conservation projects around the world — from the UK, to Indonesia, Borneo and Africa — caring for wildlife and supporting environmental efforts - so is extremely comfortable and familiar with settings and animals of all kinds.
Beth has spent a lot of time in Australia over the past sixteen years too, experiencing the lifestyle and landscape, both traveling and working all over. Our most recent visit before moving here, and Chris' first, was in December 2024, where we spent four weeks within country and confirming that Perth was where we wanted to plant roots. We both love the outdoors — hiking, swimming, beach walks, gardening, and being in nature. We love music, sport, travel, and simply experiencing life (we're really the sorts of people who are up for anything - we love a good laugh)!
In an attempt to change the world for the better (!), Beth now works as an Urban and Regional Planner to help make our places great for us, as well as for our flora and fauna. Chris works as a wheelchair specialist for active and passive users - encouraging and supporting an array of needs to help people thrive.
As previous homeowners, landlords and rental tenants ourselves (yes, we’ve been on every side of it!), we understand how important it is to feel your pets and property are in safe, caring hands. We will treat your home with respect and give your animals all the love and attention they need and deserve.
We’d love to meet with you and your fur-scaled-and/or-feathered family! Please reach out with any questions.
Thanks so much,
Beth and Chris Read more...
