🌿 House/Farm Sitter Available – Trustworthy, Practical & Animal-Savvy 🌿

Hi everyone! I’m Michaela — currently living full-time on the road in my van with my two well-travelled companions: Minnie, my gentle 12-year-old mastiff x, and Stig, my confident 6-year-old cat. 🐾

I’m looking for house and/or farm sitting opportunities from September onward, starting in southern WA or SA, then heading east/ north east across the country. I’m ideally after longer-term sits, but open to shorter ones if it’s a good fit.

A bit about me:
I’m a hands-on, practical person who’s spent most of my life working with animals. I was a horse riding instructor for 7 years and a ranger for 11, and I’ve also helped care for friend’s farms, feeding calves and lambs, checking fences, and keeping things running smoothly while they were away.

I’m confident handling a wide range of animals — from dogs, cats, horses and livestock to reptiles, poultry, and small pets. I can administer medications, manage routines, and respond calmly if anything goes wrong. I’m also happy to help with general property upkeep and grounds work, depending on what’s needed.

I currently work full-time remotely as an airport compliance specialist, so I maintain a stable routine. I travel with Starlink internet, so I don’t need to rely on local Wi-Fi.

I value clear communication, respect the trust that comes with caring for someone’s home and animals, and always aim to leave things better than I found them.

I’m licensed for trucks, boats, and motorcycles, and experienced with quad bikes and ride-on mowers. My own pets are used to the nomadic lifestyle and are non destructive— they’ve also lived alongside chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs and more.

To keep things low-stress for my older dog, I’m best suited to properties without resident dogs.

I’m fully self-contained in my van, but would appreciate access to a secure yard or enclosed area for Minnie, power, water and ideally laundry, kitchen, and bathroom facilities. I’d be grateful for full use of the house but I am flexible. Stig is content in the van and comes out on her harness and lead.

In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, swimming, fishing, and reading. This lifestyle gives me the freedom I love — and I find real purpose in caring for animals and properties along the way.
