Hiya! I'm Mallory (Mal), a lifelong animal lover, free surfer, yogi, climber, skier and jack-of-all-trades coming to explore the epic surf meccas along the east coast of this fantastic slice of heaven called Australia! As an ex-corporate worker in the medical humanitarian space, I'm beginning this new chapter of my life on my first WHV, and am especially excited for housesitting opportunities to give back and explore and connect with the wonderful people, nature, and culture that this land has to offer while I find what will be my new home here.

I grew up with a variety of pets in the household, especially dogs, but have an affinity for all kinds of pets. Through my remote working life and surf-travel, I've been able to take up some rewarding housesitting and pet sitting opportunities for both friends and strangers in NYC, California, and Mexico City. I'm very comfortable caring for pets with medications or special needs, and always treat every furry friend with the same love and attention as my own.

On a personal note, I hail from the outskirts of NYC and bring over 15 years of combined experience across the humanitarian, medical, hospitality, wellness and nonprofit industries. I'm currently unemployed as I settle into my new life in Australia, so I am fully committed to caring for your home and any additional needs like pet care, and will ensure a responsible and safe experience in this lovely exchange.

I'm a highly proactive and intuitive person, a fast learner and communicator, and I enjoy bringing high levels of enthusiasm and care to every job or volunteer opportunity I engage in.

My sole intentions are to support your housesitting needs positively and safely while enjoying the opportunity to explore new neighborhoods and coastal towns, understanding the Australian way of life and culture, and finding meaningful connection within the east coast communities. I greatly enjoy the flexibility of these arrangements and even more so that they are equally beneficial for both the homeowner and the sitter. In my free time outside of chasing perfect, peeling longboard waves, I enjoy yoga, ceramics, collaging, reading, learning Bahasa Indonesia and hunting for the best iced latte in town! :) I never let myself get too bored.

I plan on arriving in Australia sometime between mid-September and early October, and will be getting a vehicle as soon as I enter the country, but depending on my search I may not have a vehicle ready to go. Regardless, I would absolutely be able to get to your location and would appreciate the availability of a car if this is an option within the arrangement. Housesitting opportunities near the beach are a huge bonus and of special attraction to me for this reason!
