Hi there! We’re Jana and Edem – a caring, active couple originally from Frankfurt, Germany, now based in Sydney. We’re in our early30s, living here long-term on a sponsored visa (Jana works as a Strategy Consultant, Edem is in Sales), and currently using house sitting to explore different neighbourhoods as we settle into our new home city. Edem used to be 100 m sprinter for the German national team and transitioned into a Sales role after he got injured. Jana used to work in Consulting at IBM and continues her passion for tech at an AI start up in Sydney.

We absolutely love animals and have extensive experience caring for both dogs and cats. Jana grew up with large, active dogs and helped rehabilitate her family’s traumatised Bouvier, Bengy, with patience, training, and consistency. Edem had both cats and dogs growing up, and together we understand how to read pets’ needs and personalities, especially those with quirks or special routines.

Over the past months, we’ve completed multiple house sits through TrustedHousesitters and Aussie housesitter including:

- A week in Melbourne with a spirited Australian Shepherd and a Ragdoll cat
- A 5-week sit in Manly with an English Staffy
- A sit in Kingsford with a Border Collie mix.
- A 4-week sit with two Siamese cats and an Italian greyhound in Maroubra.
- One week sit with a Labrador in Rozelle
- 3.5 weeks in Darlinghurst with two Frenchies
- A current 6-week sit in Zetland with an English staffy

We’re comfortable with feeding routines, long walks (rain or shine!), medication, brushing, cuddles on the couch, and – importantly – giving pets structure, company, and calm energy when their owners are away. We’re also very tidy, non-smokers, and respectful of every home we stay in.

We’re happy to share our references from TrustedHousesitters and Aussie Housesitter and we’d love to build long-term connections for future sits. Our goal is to combine our passion for animals with the opportunity to experience Sydney through meaningful, local stays.
