Hello!

I’m Janine, a 25-year-old professional pet sitter originally from England, now based in Sydney. Over the past year, I’ve had the pleasure of caring for more than 40 dogs and 30 cats across Melbourne and Sydney. I started pet sitting in Melbourne in January 2024 and continued until May 2025, when I moved into a share house. Now that my lease is ending, I’m excited to return to pet sitting because I genuinely enjoy it and find it mutually beneficial. I love exploring different parts of Sydney, and the pets get to stay in their familiar environment and maintain their routine.

When I lived in the share house, my roommate had a puppy that I helped raise from the beginning, and he’s more than happy to provide a reference too.

My friend Austin will be joining me. He’s originally from New York, has a qualification in teaching childhood and special education, and grew up with dogs. He also has pet sitting experience in both New York and Hawaii, so between us we can provide strong references from multiple happy pet owners. Austin currently works as a scuba instructor, mainly on weekends, which means he has plenty of time during the week to give your pets extra love, care, and attention.

Austin and I love to pet sit together to provide extra support with the pets, ensuring that there’s almost always someone home. I work remotely as an IP paralegal for Dr. Martens during the week, and I also pick up hospitality shifts from time to time at a wine bar in the CBD. I schedule my hospo shifts to align with Austin’s work hours so that one of us is almost always home with your pets. Austin also has a car, so if we’re looking after a dog, we can take them on fun adventures with us.

In addition, Austin is a professional photographer and has taken beautiful pet portraits during my previous sits. These are featured in our pet sitting PowerPoint, so you can also receive stunning photos of your fur babies while you’re away.

We’re both clean, respectful young professionals who value great communication. We like to create a WhatsApp or message group chat so everyone can stay connected and we can share regular updates and photos of your pets while you’re away.

In the past, I’ve also pet sat with my friend Zahara and my mum Vilette, so if you come across their names in my reviews, that’s why. They joined me on previous sits, and together we’ve built a strong track record of happy pets and happy owners.

We can also provide references and would happily arrange an initial phone call, as well as a meeting with you and your pets, to make sure we’re the right fit for each other.
