After 30 years of operating a bustling restaurant with a team of 22 in the iconic Lake Tekapo, we decided it was time to trade the tourist rush for the charm of rural life. We are a hardworking couple who recently settled into a smaller town to run a local cafe, and we couldn’t be happier with the change of pace.
Animals have always been the heartbeat of our home. Over the years, we’ve cared for everything from horses and ducks to cats and dogs. Currently, our lives are brightened by our two dogs—Finn the Boxer and Gypsy the Black Lab—and our delightfully "snobby" cat, Dubee (a name gifted to him by our son). When we aren't at the cafe or spending time with our pets, we’re often catching up with our family over in Perth.
