Hello, I’m Sharyn.

I’m an experienced house, pet and plant sitter who has been making new best friends — furry, fluffy, feathery, finny, leafy, and spikey — since 2017.

Through my pet-care business, Glombles, I’ve cared for cats, dogs, fish, ducks, rabbits, plants and gardens, as well as homes while their people are away.

I know animals.

I’ve cared for shy cats, fussy cats, young dogs, elderly pets, anxious animals, pets needing medication and animals who simply like their day to happen exactly the way it always does.

I also have two cats of my own, Ludo and Willa. They are older, friendly and increasingly committed to the art of doing very little! Depending on the sit and the homeowner’s preference, they may sometimes be able to come with me. If that isn’t suitable, I have trusted care arrangements for them, so they are never a condition of accepting a sit.

Good pet care is not just filling bowls.

It is noticing behaviour. Respecting routines. Knowing when something is not quite right. Giving an anxious animal space. Giving a social animal company. Keeping medication on schedule. And making sure the humans can actually enjoy their holiday instead of worrying about what is happening at home.

I am happy to send daily photos, videos, and little updates too.

And then there are the leafy and spikey ones.

I have a Certificate IV in Permaculture, along with studies in Landscape Design and experience in horticulture, land care, and plant care.

So if your family includes an indoor jungle, balcony pots, veggie patch, fruit trees, succulents, herbs or an established garden, they are not an afterthought.

Different plants need different things. Watering is not just “give everything a drink on Tuesday”. I pay attention to the plant, soil, weather, exposure and season.

I’m also very happy to do plant-only or straight house sits.

You may not have pets at all. Perhaps you simply want someone responsible living in your home while you travel, keeping the lights on, watering the garden, collecting mail and parcels, putting bins out, letting in a tradesperson if agreed, and making sure everything is safe, tidy, and cared for.

Professionally, I work for the NSW Government and am a Senior Project Manager, so I’m organised, independent, practical, and used to taking responsibility. If something unexpected happens, I communicate and deal with it calmly. I work out of Parramatta 3 days a week and 2 days a week in home.

I have current all of Australia and UK police checks that I am happy to share. I appreciate it is a leap of faith letting a stranger into your home.

I’m also very respectful of people’s homes. That is something previous homeowners have mentioned again and again.
