We have very recently retired. After a life in corporate roles, and having raised three wonderful children, we took a leap of faith and took on an unexpected opportunity to become caretaker managers of an 8 bedroom boutique hotel/bed and breakfast property (with a pool) in the Hunter Valley wine region on a 2 year lease. We have literally stepped into the owners shoes, managing their business, welcoming hundreds of guests, living in their home and caring for their property and animals. The timing in our life was perfect and we have had an experience of a lifetime meeting and looking after hundreds of guests on this picturesque 5 acre property. We are lifetime travellers, and we see house and pet sitting as a wonderful way to continue our passion. Brisbane is our "home", and we own our family home there. Our preference is for longer sits on the Sunshine Coast where we are considering moving to permanently. A bit of "try before you buy". In saying that, we are open to other opportunities further afield so we can continue our travelling adventures.
