Currently, I'm moving towards semi-retirement (nurse) and planning little getaways within Australia. My partner is a retired engineer. We usually caravan, but we thought we would try something different, like house/pet sitting. We are happy going out for walks, riding our bikes, swimming, and checking out new communities, especially libraries and events. We are non-smokers and enjoy the occasional social drink. Partying is and raves are a distant memory! We live in a small tourist town called Bright and love the small village life. Our animal credentials are broad, and until recently, we had our beautiful little cavoodle in our lives for 8 years, so we know how to look after beloved pets. Our family and friends all have pets of various descriptions, which we occasionally care for when they travel (chihuahua, greyhound, stag hound, fish, cats, chickens). I have done a bit of house/pet sitting informally over the years, just by word of mouth, and would get return invitations. We are both clean, tidy, and respectful of others' places and spaces. We would love the opportunity to explore whether this travel house/pet sitting adventure is a good fit for us and you.
We are hoping to get a gig in QLD near Hervey Bay to start, as we want to help settle in our 8-year-old grandson, who has just moved there. The intention is for one of us to help with some after-school care for the first few months while we are located nearby.
