More information about this house sitter
Hello! I’m Nitya - an active, passionate and highly conscientious woman who genuinely enjoys creating a peaceful, well-cared-for home.
I did years of executive house cleaning in my youth and nearly became an interior designer, but once we had our own property I got into gardening instead!
I’ve always loved all things creative and I’m a very practical problem solver who isn’t afraid to get my hands dirty.
Being a mum of three wonderfully well-adjusted children, now all over 18, has been the best experience of them all.
Now that they’re on their own life journeys, it’s my time to spread my wings and explore this next chapter.
I’ve lived in the Byron Shire for 30 years, and after such a long time in the same area I’m now embracing a new chapter and looking forward to discovering different parts of South East Queensland.
House sitting appeals to me because it offers an exciting way to experience different communities while providing the reassurance that someone’s home and beloved pets are in caring, responsible hands.
And to tell the truth, I’m really a homebody! I rarely go out at night and spend most of my days at home, doing a few hours of work in my online business.
My schedule is flexible and adapts easily to life, so I’m fortunate to be able to spend plenty of time at home with your pets.
Looking after a home as though it were my own comes naturally to me, while I also understand that every home has its own routines, expectations and little ways of doing things.
I’m respectful of other people’s space and take pride in leaving a home clean, tidy and well cared for.
I love animals and have always enjoyed their company. I grew up with cats, birds, guinea pigs and aquarium fish, and in my adult years I’ve had two dogs, chickens and more guinea pigs.
Although I didn’t grow up in Australia, I’m certainly not afraid of spiders, mice, rats or even snakes! I haven’t manually handled snakes, but I’ve managed to get them safely out of the house on occasion.
As a gardener, I’m also used to finding creative ways to keep bandicoots and bush turkeys out of the garden.
I’m a natural problem solver and can usually come up with a creative solution when something unexpected happens.
I’m looking forward to meeting your pets and caring for your plants too, and will attend to their individual needs and routines sincerely and with lots of love.
I also appreciate that some animals need space and a calm presence rather than constant attention - every animal has their own personality and way of doing things.
Having raised three children into young adulthood, I’m very used to being responsible, keeping an eye out for others and managing a home.
I’ve also travelled extensively and lived in a number of very different environments, including developing countries, which has made me adaptable, independent and comfortable settling into new places.
I’m looking forward to using house sitting as a way to explore the SE QLD coastal corridor bit by bit, particularly the coastal areas, and hopefully meet some very lovely people and animals along the way. Read more...
