More information about this house sitter

We are a Canadian couple looking to visit Canberra as much as possible now that we have a grandchild there.
We are looking to come in and around November 2026. We are flexible from 4- 6 weeks.
Annette (Oma) works in health care and John (Paparoo) works in maintenance. ( also in health care)
I, Annette, am the animal lover. I have had dogs and cats and chickens most of my life with the occasional goats, potbellied pigs, and lizard. We had 3 children, after all.
Lately, we only have one cat because our demanding work life would not be fair to a dog.
Nonetheless, I pride myself on being the go-to dog "auntie" with my friends. I pet sit regularly for them, and I think of it as s a win-win situation. Animals make me happy.
John makes the house and garden maintenance his realm. We have a team thing figured out.
We have lived the rural life for over 34 years now. We look forward to more time in Canberra to enjoy the metropolitan culture that we so miss. At the same time, we can still enjoy the unique (to us) natural beauty that exists there with the abundant gardens, parks and trails. Being stargazers, Mount Stromlo Observatory is a little cherry on top.
To be clear, our main goal is to spend as much of our free time with our grandbaby. (They live in Wright) If your pet is tolerant of toddlers, then their chances of more excursions will probably increase.
That is not to say we would only consider that kind of pet. We are happy and capable of keeping the two things separate.
We visited Australia for the first time last June, and we found it to be a very welcoming, beautiful place. We can't wait to come back.
