We are a happily married, retired couple from Australia who have been fortunate enough to follow our passion for travel over the past 15 years. Each year, we explore new places in our Troopy whilst stopping to care for homes and animals along the way.

We are non-smokers, proud homeowners, and devoted animal lovers. While we travel, our own much-loved animals are cared for by our daughter, so we truly understand how important it is to know your pets are safe, happy, and well cared for in your absence.
We would love the opportunity to care for your home and pets, and we’re more than happy to meet and greet as we are housesitting on the Sunshine Coast.

Over the years, we’ve had the joy of caring for a wide range of animals—dogs, cats, birds, fish, horses, chickens, rabbits, goats, guinea pigs, sheep, cows, ducks, pigs, frogs, mice, and even a kangaroo! We’re comfortable with animals living both indoors and outdoors, and we’re experienced in providing additional care such as administering medications, injections, and post-surgical support. Most importantly, we genuinely enjoy giving animals the love, attention, and companionship they need.

More recently, while travelling through the Balkans in our Troopy, we carried food for stray animals, tended to injured dogs, and provided water where needed. We even assisted a stray cat have kittens when she chose our apartment in Santorini! Caring for animals is simply part of who we are.

We also take great pride in maintaining a home. We love gardening and being outdoors, and we’re more than happy to mow lawns, tend to gardens, care for indoor and outdoor plants, maintain pools and spas, sweep and tidy outdoor areas, prune and harvest, and even take care of minor repairs or outdoor painting. We treat every home with the same respect and care as our own.

What we love most about house sitting, though, is the companionship of pets—we miss our own when we travel. We enjoy daily walks, playtime, and plenty of cuddles (and yes, we’re perfectly happy if your pets like to sleep on the bed!).

As experienced homeowners, rental property owners, and former Airbnb Superhosts (for 5 years), we understand the importance of trust, cleanliness, and maintaining a property to a high standard. We’re organised, reliable, and excellent communicators, and we’re always happy to send regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing everything at home is being well cared for.

Mary has worked as a private home-birth midwife on the Sunshine Coast for 15 years, and Bernhard has owned and operated a construction services business—backgrounds that reflect our reliability, attention to detail, and strong sense of responsibility.
