Hi! I'm new on Mind A Home.
My friends call me the "animal whisperer". I am one of those people with animal magnetism, they love me. Which is great, because I love all animals.
Currently, looking for housesitting opportunities for summer 2025/26 in and around Canberra.
Since 1990, when I was 18 and fresh out of high school, I have been housesitting all over Australia and the world. Mostly I am asked to care for the goodest dogs and sweetest cats, but I have experience with horses, chickens, sheep, fish, rescue wildlife, birds and turtles.
I don't mind getting my hands dirty if you have a garden requiring care.
Pool care is no problem, so long as you leave instructions. There is a bit of variety between filters, pH balance and cleaners.
As a writer, I can spend a lot of time keeping your indoor companions company while I work and take lots of breaks for enrichment time, walks, play and relaxing together.
I am also house-trained and will look after your home and yard so you can travel with assurance everything will be well.
I am a published writer and well respected in adventure, travel and mental health circles. Currently, I am working on a second book of travel memoirs, the first being the chronical of my walk around Australia raising awareness about suicide prevention.
