We are Vanessa & John! Born in England, weathered in Australia. In September we will be leaving our rural property in Tasmania and returning to the mainland. We are not rushing into purchasing our next house because we plan to spend some time overseas in 2026. Until then, we would like to take care of the homes of others with the same care that we take care of our own. We have plentiful experience in all the activities of house and land upkeep - eg. cleaning, gardening, fruit & veg garden management, pool maintenance, ride-on mowing. We have owned dogs in the past and we have taken care of others' cats, chooks & fish. As a couple we have done some housesitting in France. Vanessa also has the experience of housesitting in Switzerland. This included frequent liaison with a local vet re. the chronic condition of a cat and speedy comprehension of veterinary terminology in Swiss-German. We are a resourceful couple and not easily flustered!
Our favourite environments are peaceful and quiet. We have our own transport and will be heading to Victoria initially as we have family there. We are non-smokers. We have no pets of our own, no children, and no untidy habits. One more thing - it is difficult to find photos of ourselves because we prefer to take photos of birds and nature.
