Hello!

I'm Ocean, a seasoned house sitter, back in action after many years' hiatus! I have bonus skills like expert pool maintenance, a wonderful track record, and a huge heart for every animal. 🐾❤️

I work remotely part-time for a beautiful charity in a fulfilling job, working as a grantwriter. This allows me to roam free, and experience new places in Australia, which is an amazing opportunity! Animal companionship of course is a big plus, and many fun adventures can ensue.

In 2017, I did housesitting all throughout NSW. I met so many beautiful furry friends, discovered amazing new places on the coastline, and all-in-all, made great memories. A stand-out was that a home on the Hawkesbury River was reachable only by boat - so, I learnt how to boat!

This time in 2026, I'm open to all of Australia, to see where my adventures take me. There are so many locations around Australia that I'd love to check out, both for a change of scenery, and also to consider where I might want to live longer-term, one day.

I would love you to tell me what's cool to check out in your area! I'm especially a fan of nature walks, and places to swim.

From prior times, I'm very experienced with house and pet sitting, I'm a natural fit as an animal lover, and I know what matters to most homeowners - it's to keep things running as usual and exactly how you like it, while you're away - including loved ones at home being as happy and healthy as usual - along with specific needs like collecting mail, garden maintenance, keeping the house occupied and 'lived in', etc.

I'm very detail-oriented and have a reminder system for any daily feeding, walking, medication, cuddle times etc. I always do a great job of keeping you updated while you're away, so you can rest assured all is good. In the past, I've often had requests to come back.

I'm also very experienced with rural living and organic vege patch maintenance! I have lots of backyard gardening experience too, and always love getting outside to get some sun and nature time.

A big thing about me is that I'm into organic food, natural and environmental living, and alternative and natural health. I love to keep my body clean and to minimise exposure to toxic chemicals, alcohol, smoke, drugs, etc. I make an epic superfood smoothie every morning. :)

My job is perfect for house and light farm sitting. During the work day, I take lots of mini breaks to rest my eyes. Every 30 mins I do 5 mins of light gardening, cleaning, backyard maintenance, cuddle / play time with pets, etc!

P.S. a unique perk I offer is that I am now a pool and spa expert. I can keep your pool and/or spa in tip top shape, and help out if problems arise. I have experience with both chlorine and alternative water chemistry solutions, and can give tips for how to optimise yours. I know an industry secret or two!

𝗣𝗲𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲

I've racked up lots of pet sitting experience, especially with dogs and cats.

I grew up with border collie/kelpie farm dogs. After my many housesitting experiences, I have now come to love all breeds of dogs, both big and small. Dogs are dogs! They all have a wonderful energy, they need love and attention, and hey, so do I! So we're a perfect match. I enjoy walking daily, getting outdoors, and getting exercise, and I'm physically strong, so I can meet any large dog's needs to keep them fully happy and healthy during your time away!

I love cats! For those that love to curl up on my lap, it's basically heaven, and if they don't, my feelings won't be hurt. :) Maybe yours will keep me company while I'm typing away in my WFH laptop job. 😻

I've also looked after guinea pigs before :) - CUTE!

𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗺 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲

From my many rural adventures, I have decent large property mowing experience - ride-ons, including zero-turns, and even tractor slashers. I'm a pro with a whipper snipper, know 2-stroke/4-stroke, and can do chainsawing. I'm an efficient yet careful mower, and know what to look out for to minimise repair downtime etc.

I myself grew up in a rural area on a farm, and love growing organic fruit and veg! 🍑 🥬 🪏

I don't have too many advanced animal husbandry skills, but I have some light goat experience, am comfortable looking after chooks, and most importantly, love learning, have a can-do attitude, and have a default mindset of responsibility and care. I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty! 🥾 Read more...
