A retired, professional couple in our early sixties who share a love of animals, nature and the outdoors. We are a mature, reliable, quiet, non-smoking couple with extensive home owning and overseas travel experiences.
We enjoy daily walks, pottering in the garden and relaxing on our balcony reading, practicing yoga and keeping fit.
I am a retired teacher who worked passionately as Head of Special Education Services for 17 years. For the past ten years, I have enjoyed volunteering as a yoga teacher. Both these roles highlight my conscientiousness, reliability and dedication to looking after the needs of others.
For many years, my husband, Terry and I hosted many international home stay students and enjoyed including these students as part of our family and accommodating for their needs to ensure they felt comfortable, happy and safe whilst away from their own families. It is these skills we bring to house and pet sitting with our full enthusiasm to ensure your loved pets feel happy, cared for and secure in your absence.
As previous pool owners, we are experienced with pool and garden maintenance and don't mind getting our hands dirty.
We have experience in our younger years owning and caring for dogs, cats, budgerigars, finches, tropical fish and gold fish.
Our last pet, Zeus was a large, beautiful, German shepherd rescue dog whom we walked twice a day as promised until Zeus was sadly too old and unable to go on these walks. We love visiting several of our friends who have pets as we are rather fond of cuddles with Max the cat and enjoy joining our other friends on walks with Sassie and Pluto (Great Danes).
The last four years, we have rented apartments in inner city Brisbane and as past landlords and home owners of several properties that we renovated, we show great care and respect for the homes we rent, holiday or house sit, treating these places as if they were our own. We are house proud and are diligent in maintaining a tidy and clean home. Recently, we stayed in a friend's granny flat for a week and when we left he messages us, "The unit is cleaner than it's ever been! Thank you guys".
As home owners and tenants, we have always maintained good relationships with our neighbours whilst also respecting their privacy. Read more...
