# Experienced, Active & House-Proud Couple Who Love Dogs

We are Sue and Russell, an active retired professional couple who genuinely understand the trust involved in leaving your home and much-loved pets in someone else's care.

Sue is a retired school teacher, while Russell is a retired Pastor who now spends some of his time mentoring and writing. We are long-term homeowners and have also owned rental properties, so we appreciate what it means to entrust a property to someone else.

### We genuinely enjoy caring for dogs and pets

We both grew up with dogs and have always enjoyed having animals as part of our lives.

Over the past 25 years we have owned three large Dobermans as well as a cat, so we're very comfortable and confident around large dogs. We also understand that every animal has its own personality, routines and needs.

During the past five years we have occasionally house sat, caring for properties with both large and small dogs, including some dogs with behavioural challenges.

Russell particularly enjoys walking and is very happy taking dogs on their regular walks, including longer walks of up to 10 km where that suits the dog's normal routine, age and fitness.

Above all, we'll follow your instructions and maintain the routines that help your pets feel happy and secure while you're away.

### Your home will be in capable hands

We are both non-smokers, active, practical and very house-proud.

Sue loves gardening and is a compulsive house cleaner—so coming home to a clean and tidy house is something you can reasonably expect!

Russell is happy looking after lawns and general outdoor areas, and pool maintenance is no problem.

Having owned our own homes and rental properties over many years, we're accustomed to the everyday responsibilities of looking after a property. If something unexpected happens while you're away, we'll communicate with you and deal with it calmly and sensibly.

We both also hold current Queensland Working with Children credentials.

### Why are we house sitting?

The home we would ultimately prefer to live in is currently being reconstructed, which has given us an unusual opportunity to experience and enjoy different parts of Australia's east coast.

We have our own reliable Subaru Outback and are completely independent in getting ourselves to and from house sits.

For shorter stays, we're particularly interested in South-East Queensland and northern/eastern New South Wales. For longer stays, we're very interested in the Hunter Valley, Central Coast, Sydney, NSW South Coast and ACT.

But for us, house sitting isn't simply about having somewhere different to stay.

We recognise that you're entrusting us with your home and, very often, much-loved members of your family. We take that responsibility seriously.

We'll respect your property, care for your pets with affection and common sense, follow their established routines, and keep in touch as much—or as little—as you would like while you're away.

Our aim is simple: **for you to enjoy your time away knowing that your pets and home are in capable hands—and to return to happy animals, a well-cared-for property and a beautifully clean home.**
