We are an active, responsible and friendly Australian couple enjoying an exciting new chapter in our lives, with the freedom to travel, explore new places and experience different communities.

We are both in retirement, although mine is something of an interim arrangement as I plan to return to working part-time in my own business. My partner, Jane, is more permanently retired, having recently sold her business.

We've just returned from a wonderful six-month adventure through the Balkans and surrounding parts of Europe. While we expect to travel a little less frequently in the future, we're not quite ready to settle down! House sitting seems a perfect way to combine our love of travel with the pleasures of home life and the companionship of animals.

Our experience with pets

Jane is an experienced and affectionate pet owner. Her most recent companion was a much-loved Border Collie who enjoyed two walks every day, something that fitted our active lifestyle perfectly.

Before embarking on our extended travels, we made the difficult decision to find him a wonderful new home. He now lives a very happy life in Berry, NSW, where he even has his own Instagram page!

We understand that pets are family members, each with their own personalities, routines and needs. We're very comfortable with regular walks, feeding schedules, playtime and, of course, plenty of affection.

A little about our lifestyle

We're naturally home-oriented people who also enjoy getting outdoors. We love walking, keeping fit, exploring local neighbourhoods and preparing good meals at home.

We also appreciate quieter pleasures: cooking together, reading, relaxing in the garden and occasionally getting completely absorbed in a good television series.

Because neither of us has a conventional nine-to-five work schedule, we have considerable flexibility and can spend much of the day at home. This means pets can enjoy plenty of company, attention and a reassuringly familiar routine.

What you can expect from us

We appreciate the trust involved in inviting someone into your home and entrusting them with your pets.

We would treat your home with the same care and respect as our own, follow your instructions closely and make sure your pets feel secure, comfortable and loved while you're away.

We're happy to keep you updated with messages and photographs so you can relax and enjoy your time away knowing everything is in good hands.

For us, house sitting is more than simply finding somewhere to stay. It's an opportunity to enjoy the comforts of home, spend time with animals and experience places in a more personal and meaningful way.
