We are two good friends (Barb and Carolyn) who live in Tasmania, and would love to spend some time travelling in warmer parts of Australia during the winter of 2026. We both love dogs in particular, and have been dog owners in the past - myself a while ago, and Carolyn until very recently. We would love to have the opportunity to care for other dogs - they are such good companions, and so much fun. We know how important dogs are to their families, and understand the angst about making sure you find carers who love and care for them the way you do.

We are both retired ex-professionals, and each own a home with a sizeable garden, so we are used to taking good care of both.

I (Barb) enjoy keeping active (kayaking, swimming, walking) and being involved in our small community and its organisations. Carolyn is an avid pickleball player and walker, and is the Treasurer on two local committees.

We are both non-smokers, and are reliable, trustworthy, honest and good communicators.

We require a property with at least 2 bedrooms. We would prefer a house swap of at least a week, up to perhaps 2-3 weeks, but we can be flexible. Ideally we are looking for house and pet sit opportunities in northern NSW or Queensland, and any time between June and early September 2026. Our lawns and gardens start growing like crazy after that (more accurately, the weeds start growing), so we need to be home ..... and as soon as we get home, Carolyn intends to get another dog - or two!
