Hello,
I’m Helen and live in a 2 bedroom apartment in the funky suburb of Bowden. I’ve been living here for 5 years, after renting it initially for a year. Prior to that, I’m always lived at the beach; I’m not a swimmer, but I like walking and taking in the sea.
I turned 60 in October and went on a South African Safari. I came back with a new outlook, decided to retire as a Podiatrist and want to focus on my hobby, Art. My 2 br apartment is too small and I find the summers stifling. I like to make a “sea-return”on the Yorke Penisula for the 12 months that you’re away.

This would be my first experience housesitting, but I have been both a tenant & a landlord. I keep my space clean, neat & tidy. Be assured that I won’t be splashing paint around your home. If I’m painting inside, I place large rugs on my carpet and outside, I use Cardboard or a tarpaulin weighed down with bricks. I even where gloves, so I even like to keep myself clean.
Im not a smoker , but I have 2 goldfish that I’m not that attached to. I have a 22 year daughter at Uni. She visits me often because Bowden is so close to the city. She may stay the occasional weekend with me. I don’t think that she’ll be a frequent visitor at Coobowie, as she doesn’t drive. If she comes, it’ll be a case of me driving her here and back to Adelaide.
My cousin has a holiday home at Foul/Foal Bay and I’ve had several short stays there, I stayed at Sultana Point about 5 years ago and know Yorke’s pretty well. Coobowie for a year is just what I’ need to feel as if I can breathe again and create some art.I hope we can make this house sitting happen. Read more...
