A little about us

Hello! We're Buddy and Diane, a friendly, down-to-earth couple from Goulburn, NSW.

We've been together for 25 years and have two wonderful daughters who are now making their own way in the world.

We're both in our early 60s and have travelled extensively over the years. While we still look forward to our bigger overseas adventures, we're also keen to experience a different style of travel.

As homeowners and lifelong pet owners ourselves, we understand the trust involved in leaving your home and much-loved pets in someone else's care. We know how important it is to have people you can rely on, who will respect your home, maintain your pets' routines and care for them as if they were their own. That's the peace of mind we'd love to provide other homeowners.

Our experience with animals

Animals have always been a big part of our lives. We've been lifelong dog owners, usually having two dogs at a time, and currently share our home with two dogs and two cats.

We've also cared for friends' and family members' pets, both in our own home and in theirs. We understand that every animal has its own personality, routine and little quirks — and that keeping them comfortable and settled is just as important as feeding and watering them.

We're comfortable with the everyday responsibilities of pet care, including feeding, companionship, administering medication when required and providing plenty of affection and attention. We also understand that some pets are independent while others like to be right by your side!

A little about our working lives and checks

Buddy works in disability support, a role that requires patience, reliability, compassion and a strong sense of responsibility.

He holds a current National Police Check, along with the checks and clearances required for his disability support work, and is happy to provide evidence where appropriate.

Diane works in the window furnishings industry and is equally committed to being a responsible and trustworthy house sitter. She's also happy to obtain a National Police Check or any other relevant checks required by a homeowner.

We're practical, respectful and house-proud people who appreciate a tidy and comfortable home.

What you can expect from us

- Your home will be treated with care and respect.
- Your pets will receive plenty of attention, affection and companionship.
- We'll follow their usual routines and any special instructions.
- We're happy to provide regular updates and photos while you're away.
- We'll keep your home tidy and leave it as we found it.
- We'll communicate openly and contact you if anything unexpected comes up.
- We're happy to provide identification, relevant checks and references where available.

We know how reassuring it is to be away and know everything at home is in good hands.

Our availability and preferred locations

We're hoping to begin our house-sitting journey around mid-2027, initially concentrating on shorter stays while we build experience, establish references and develop a portfolio of house-sitting experiences.

We're primarily looking for opportunities together as a couple. However, Diane occasionally travels to Adelaide to visit her mum, and Buddy would also be happy to consider shorter house sits independently when the timing suits.

We're based in Goulburn, NSW, and are happy to travel approximately three hours from home, although we're flexible for the right opportunity.

This could include Canberra, the Southern Highlands, Sydney (including northern Sydney), the Central West, the NSW South Coast and suitable locations in regional Victoria.

Our own furry family will be staying at home with our daughter Amy, who will be studying towards becoming a veterinary nurse. She'll be looking after our two dogs and two cats while we're away, allowing us to give your home and pets our full attention.

As we gradually look to reduce our working commitments, we'd love to build on our house-sitting experience and eventually explore longer opportunities further afield.
