Hello! We’re a caring, trustworthy family looking for our next house-sitting adventure 🐾

Hi there! 😊

We’re a mature, loving family of four — two professionals and our two young adult children (16 and 20) — who are looking for a bit of a tree change and an opportunity to begin creating a new life in Hobart.

We’re hoping to eventually settle in Hobart long-term, and we think house sitting is the perfect way to explore different parts of the area while continuing to have animals in our lives, which we absolutely love.

🐾 Animals have always been a huge part of our family

We have both had pets throughout our lives and genuinely understand how important they are — they’re family, not just pets.

We recently lost our beloved young Staffy to cancer, followed only four weeks later by the loss of our very elderly Staffy. It was a heartbreaking time for all of us, and we’ve really missed having animals around us. House sitting feels like a wonderful way to reconnect with that part of our lives while giving someone else the reassurance of knowing their much-loved pets are being cared for by people who truly understand how special they are.

Between us, we’ve shared our lives with a wonderfully varied collection of animals, including Staffies, Dobermans, Labradors, Chihuahuas, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, ferrets, birds, rabbits and guinea pigs. So we’re comfortable with different personalities, breeds and individual needs.

We also have two very well-behaved pet cockatiels. They are quiet, friendly and accustomed to other animals.

🏡 Your home will be treated with care

Craig was a police officer for 30 years, and I’m a psychologist who has been self-employed for 30 years. We’re responsible, respectful and reliable people, and we understand that inviting someone into your home — and trusting them with your beloved animals — is a big thing.

You can feel confident that we will treat your home with the same care and respect we would expect for our own. We’re naturally tidy, considerate and conscientious, and we would take pride in leaving your home exactly as we found it.

Most importantly, we want you to be able to go away feeling completely comfortable that your pets are happy, safe, loved and well cared for.

❤️ A quiet, gentle family

Our children are mature, quiet and gentle young people. As a family, we enjoy simple things — movies, reading, health and fitness, and spending time together.

Our son works at an organic health store and our daughter is still at school. We would be very respectful of your home and your neighbours.

We’re particularly interested in longer-term house sits, as we’re hoping to spend more time getting to know Hobart and its surrounding areas while we work towards our eventual move.

We would absolutely love the opportunity to meet you and your pets, hear all about their personalities and routines, and give them plenty of love and attention while you’re away.

I’ve also attached a little “Happy Birthday” video we made for a friend a few years ago — it’s not house-sitting related, but it gives you a little glimpse of our family and our personalities. 😊
