Looking for a Housemate for April & Wilson at Weekender Homestead

Thursday 17 September 2026 to Monday 21 September 2026

We are a mature couple looking for a caring housemate (or couple) to spend a few days at our peaceful weekender property and keep company with our much-loved rescue cats, April and Wilson.

Our cosy one-room "shouse" (shed/house) is situated on 6 acres, just 5 km from Agnes Water township and only 8 minutes from the main beach. The property has air conditioning, electricity, tank water, a separate composting toilet, unlimited Wi-Fi, Netflix, Stan, Paramount+, Foxtel, a lovely outdoor deck, and an outdoor fireplace.

Meet the Residents

🐱 April is our petite princess.
🐱 Wilson is our lovable ginger boofhead.

Both cats have their own cat door and come and go as they please, so there's no litter tray to clean.

🐔 You'll also be sharing the property with six friendly hens and their handsome rooster, Elvis. The chickens provide fresh eggs daily and require feeding morning and late afternoon. They also enjoy free-ranging whenever you're home, with a minimum of about an hour each day.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a reliable, animal-loving person or couple to care for our furry and feathered family during the dates above.

Also included are the resident free loaders who usually visit on a daily in the afternoons looking for their quality mince, being the 9 kookaburras (5 of whom can be handfed), 6-8 butcher birds and 2 magpies (David & Margaret), oh and the 2 Burdekin ducks (Heckle & Jeckle) who visit the chook pen on occasion.

Please note that April and Wilson are not particularly fond of small children or other pets, so this opportunity would best suit adults travelling without children or animals.
