Dates: 11 October – 14 November (approx. 5 weeks)Location: Altona Meadows, VIC
We are looking for a caring, attentive house sitter (or couple) to look after our home and our wonderful, high-energy, and incredibly affectionate male Catahoula Leopard Dog while we are away for just over a month.
About Our Boy:
He is a striking Catahoula who is absolutely loyal, sweet, and—to be completely honest—very needy! He thrives on human companionship, loves being close to his people, and will happily act like a giant lap dog. At night, he is used to sleeping in the bedroom (and right on the bed) with you, in fact if it is cold he needs to get under the covers, "super sook" so he'll need someone who is completely comfortable sharing their sleeping space with a big, affectionate dog although he does help keep you warm.
Because he requires a lot of emotional reassurance, this sit is absolutely perfect for a remote worker, retiree, or someone who spends a significant amount of time at home.
Sadly Mr Atlas was a rescue puppy and I am his third home, so has separation anxiety, and as he got older and somewhat bigger, he didnt get on so well with a bossy Staffy and the fights began, he does not have a vicious bone in his body, but would not be able to have another pet here at this time with him.
Responsibilities: Pet Care: Daily feeding, fresh water, and ensuring he gets regular exercise/playtime. Most importantly, offering plenty of couch cuddles, bedtime companionship, and affection. Home Care: Keeping the house clean and tidy, collecting the mail, and putting the bins out on collection days.
About the Area & Home: Altona Meadows offers a fantastic, relaxed lifestyle. You’ll be living in a comfortable home with all the modern amenities, including high-speed Wi-Fi (perfect for working from home with a home office). Our backyard is fully secure and safe for a large dog, giving him plenty of space to stretch his legs outside. We are located just a short drive or bike ride away from the beautiful Altona Beach, local wetlands, walking trails, and excellent cafes. There is also easy access to public transport for quick trips into the Melbourne CBD.
