About this house sitting position in AROONA

We have a 3-bedroom 2-bathroom one level house just a short 2.5 km’s from the closest surf beach. More importantly we have 2 much loved Labradors who love both the beach and their own pool that they allow us humans to swim in. The park one block back from our house has a fenced off dog park in addition to that the dogs are allowed off leash throughout the whole park daily after 4pm and before 8am which means caring for the doggoes is pretty simple.
They’re more than happy to stroll over there in the mornings and back again in the afternoons!
We also take them to Moffat beach for a run and a play in the surf with a rinse off in the pool when we get home. But the logistics of having wet Labradors in the car is something we appreciate can only be done by us 😂
They are typical Labradors as they tend to spend most of their days sleeping on the couch or on our bed. I know they have a really hard life??
We also have a cockatiel who happily chirps away outside, a simple change of water and seed every day and to be brought in overnight.
Most of the garden is linked to a watering system so we simply turn the taps on and off once a day. We do hand water a few plants & pot plants that may need extra water and of course we have a few indoor plants that get watered once a week or so.
The pool filter is set to a timer so it just needs to be topped up with water if the level runs low and the leaf basket needs to be emptied every other day. Of course if the Labs swim every day then the basket needs to be emptied every day as it will be full of dog hair… In summer that will be pretty much every day but in winter we found that they weren’t that keen to hop in the cold pool.
Ah yes and in summer you’ll need to vacuum the pool daily but in winter maybe once a fortnight? It really depends on the weather and if there are a lot of leaves flying around. Either way it’s not an onerous task as the pool is quite small.

The outdoor entertainment area is great, lounge suite and dining room table undercover, a BBQ and an outdoor pizza oven too. You won't need to be inside!

We know we’re so lucky to have a lovely home and wonderful animals and each time we plan a holiday we find it more and more difficult to leave them behind but sometimes it’s not possible to take them along with us! Read more...
