About this house sitting position in Balwyn North

Our family is off to Europe for a 4 week holiday, meaning we have to leave Lucy, our 12 year old female Lab, for the first time! We are looking for a single person or couple who loves dogs and are happy to spend time at home to relax with Lucy.

We live in a quiet Melbourne neighbourhood within 5 minutes walking distance to local shops (including Aldi) and restaurants and a short drive to Westfield Doncaster shopping centre. We're also a very short drive to the Eastern Freeway which will give you quick and easy access the city by car or bus.

Our house (we are renting) is 2 story, 3 bedroom + study. Ground floor is open plan kitchen/living, laundry, master bedroom with queen size bed and ensuite, and also a second living room with TV/stereo. There is a small enclosed backyard with outdoor furniture and a BBQ. The front yard is not fenced. Both front and back are very low maintenance. The driveway will be available for car parking (street parking is available for a second car if needed).

Lucy is an adorable, quiet, super sweet, people loving dog. She spends most of her day on one of her dog beds either sleeping or just hanging around whichever human is closest by. Most of all she loves a cuddle! She spends all her time on the ground floor as she won't climb the stairs. Lucy is low maintenance and really only needs a 15 minute walk and the occasional toilet trip each day (she can also hold out for several hours if needed). Lucy is lovely to walk on lead and loves to snuffle along nature strips.

There is one exception to her beautiful demeanour. We have had Lucy for only 4 years, and she comes from a difficult background having been rescued from her previous situation. Probably due to this, her "kryptonite" is other dogs and she displays a high level of reactive anxiety around them. As a result she must never be off lead - EVER! That is absolutely non-negotiable. On her daily walks we try to avoid other dogs altogether.
