About this house sitting position in Barooga

We’re looking for caring house sitters to enjoy our peaceful 16‑acre property and look after our much‑loved animals while we’re away for five weeks. Our modern three‑bedroom home sits in a beautiful rural setting just 8km from Cobram–Barooga and close to the Murray River on the NSW/Vic border.

We have three easy‑going horses who live out in the paddock; they’ll be rugged and simply need a daily check and hay. Our two gentle Border Collies (12 and 11) are low‑maintenance and love company. One takes tablets twice a day, which he happily eats in a small ball of mince. They have a fully fenced yard for fine‑weather days and sleep indoors, crate‑trained for when you’re out.

Our cat has recently decided indoor life is superior. She’s shy at first but very sweet once she warms up. Sitters with pets are welcome — we just ask that visiting pets are supervised around her initially, as she will run if chased. Once she feels safe, she confidently rules the roost over the Border Collies, who accept her authority without question.

The garden is easy‑care, and the lawns may need one mow while we’re away — we have a ride‑on to make it simple.
